Foxconn, the largest manufacturer of electronics and computer components worldwide and most well known for OEM for Mac mini, iPod and iPhone for Apple Inc, recently announced a plan to invest a total of 200 million dollars in new programs in Hangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone over the next five years. The new programs are expected to generate a yearly gross output of 3 billion Yuan.
As a new move to take advantage of the huge pool of talents in Hangzhou, Foxconn also plans to invest 100 million in a housing project to provide affordable houses for talented personnel.
Foxconn opened its full subsidiary, Hongxun Electric Industry Co Ltd in Hangzhou in 1999. Located in Hangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, Foxconn Hangzhou plant is a leading manufacturer of mobile phones, mobile phone parts and fittings and other electronic components with over 6200 employees, Hongxun Electric is ranked among the top ten foreign-asset invested companies in Hangzhou in terms of revenues and profits.
